A Kern County Fair Weekend
I just love the Fair! Especially this one. I grew up going to the Kern County Fair and this fair just seems more authentic to me than other fairs I've been to. It's not overly commercialized and you can tell that agriculture plays a giant part of this fair. And it makes sense... it's in a place where agriculture plays a big part in just about everyone's lives!I've wanted to bring Armando to the Kern County Fair for years now and this weekend we finally got our chance! And it happened that John Anderson would be playing that night, too! So we picked up a chocolate covered banana at Mary's Ice Cream Parlor and went exploring!
We saw some Mexican Folk Dancers from Grupo Folklorico Escuelas Unidas.
I thought about getting some cobbler from the cutest food truck I had ever seen...but I already had dessert! Next time!
We saw some cool old tractors!
Some award winning produce, grown in Kern County!
Then on to the animals! We saw lots of cow bottoms!
This fuzzy fella was drying off after a bath.
Then we saw some giddy goats!
I love their long ears!
This little guy was just waiting for a kiss!
Smmahhh!
This little pig went back to the pen...
This little pig went "Oink"! (Okay... yes, I am a dork)
Then we went out behind the KCF Rodeo and saw some horses...
and some cattle...
Then, it was about time to see John Anderson! So we met some friends and found our seats!
Dallas Smith was the Opener...
Then John Anderson!
I had really missed this kind of music! It was glorious!
Here's a video I took of Swingin'! Sorry for the shakin'...it was hard not to dance. :)

The next day was the night of the Eclipse!
And there was a beautiful sunset from the farm!
This was the best photo I got of the moon! I forgot to bring my good telephoto lens to the farm!
So I took a pic of the stars before Armando and I headed back home to the city.
T.T.F.N.!
