Sustainability:
This is the first tote I ever made! When I purchased my first leather hide, I didn’t realize there were so many ways of tanning leather, and I learned so much in the process. Though this is a chemically (chrome) tanned and dyed leather, I created this bag as a way to use the materials that I already had, therefore not wasting raw material. If you would prefer a tote made with more sustainable and naturally tanned leather, see my other totes! All the other available totes are made with more sustainable vegetable-tanned leather and natural threads.

I’ve always valued being “green” and more “eco-friendly” but until the last few years, I had been a bit naive about what that meant. I thought that recycling was enough and didn’t think much about what happened to our trash (or recyclables) after we put in in the bin and it got taken to the dump (or recycling center). It just didn’t really cross my mind. And when I saw others talk about zero-waste or living more sustainably online, I kind of thought it was silly or unattainable in today’s society. But taking one step at a time, has made it way easier than I every imagined… And the more I learn about it, the more I’ve found that it isn’t about being perfect, but rather, doing what you can!
