The Pier - 2012

With this project, I explored long exposure along the pier at Manhattan Beach. I like going outdoors and observing people. I decided to experiment with long exposure because it was something that interested me and I like the effects it creates in the images. It can capture time and movement into a single photograph. Similar to my relationship with the people I observe, the images of these people are ghostly and blurred. I usually only see this people once and never interact with many of them. Long exposure creates a mysterious kind of stillness and movement. These photographs are a representation of what catches my eye as I walk around Manhattan Beach.
