Almond Blossoms & Alpacas
Last weekend I went to visit my family at the farm. I was only able to stay for one night, but it was so fun.My mom had called me a few days before and reminded me that the Almond trees were blossoming. With all the white petals on the trees and the ground, it looks just like snow. And I hadn't yet seen the new alpacas yet.So we drove up on my day off, and I dragged my boyfriend along with me. He'd never seen the farm at this time of the year before. We went for a walk around the pretty trees and the pasture and saw the Alpacas. They're the funniest, cutest animals I have ever seen! And so curious! They had us cracking up. One of them was sooo interested in watching my dad fixing the sprinkler! I know if she had hands she would have volunteered to hold the wrench!Being out there, I was reminded about how much I miss it. Living there. There's so many wonderful things about country life. The beauty. The trees. The smells. The animals. The wide open spaces. The freedom.I feel more at ease and like myself out there. There's things that you can do out there that you really can't do anywhere else. Or at least not as easily. And so many more beautiful things to look at. And take pictures of. And ride ATVs all over. And get super filthy. And walk barefoot outside. And the sounds… The loud silence you hear. The crickets and frogs. Everything sounds and smells so… organic. So alive. And real. And then at night… the only light that shines through my window, is the moonlight. Its beautiful.I think I even miss the dust. Its interesting growing up out there and then moving to a city. It really makes me appreciate it even more. Someday I'll be out in the country all the time once again.
